Howe Lodge No. 587

Birmingham Masonic Lodge under charter from the United Grand Lodge of England

Brotherly Love

Every true mason will show tolerance and respect for the opinions of others and behave with kindness and understanding to his fellow creatures.

Relief

Freemasons are taught to practice charity and to care, not only for their own, but also for the community as a whole, both by charitable giving, and by voluntary efforts.

Truth

Freemasons strive for truth, requiring high moral standards. Freemasons believe that these principles represent a way of achieving higher standards in life.

Discover

Freemasonry

Freemasonry is one of the world’s oldest and largest non-religious, non-political, fraternal and charitable organisations.  Members come from all walks of life but meet as equals.  It instills in its members a moral and ethical approach to life, having values based on integrity, fairness, honesty and kindness. Members are urged to treat the interests of family as paramount but also teaches them concern for others by caring for the less fortunate and helping those in need.

It is as relevant as ever in society today as it encompasses fundamental principals of good citizenship, learnt through traditional rituals that take the form of one-act plays, leading to increased self-esteem and confidence.

Freemasons make a major contribution to society through their own charities, as well as through donations to UK charities and worldwide disaster relief funds.  Members play an active role in their communities.

Each Lodge is an independent unit, governed locally by the Province and ultimately by United Grand Lodge of England based at Great Queen Street, London.

Welcome to

Howe Lodge

It is a pleasure to welcome you to our Website – Howe Lodge No 587.  I am proud to be the Worshipful Master for this year, even if I have been here before.   We are a successful lodge with several more recent members, and more members that have “been there and done that”; they are more than willing to give guidance and advice when required.  This mix ensures a good experience with learning for all.

During the current year we have a full calendar of ceremonies to carry out, and a social event to welcome prospective visitors – as soon as Government Restrictions allow!

We give a warm brotherly welcome to visitors to all our meetings and wish them an enjoyable evening.

Please look through the website to learn a little about the members, the Lodge, and the Fraternity. If you wish to know more, just use the contact facility.
